Still learning the ropes on this website and tweaking the page to get it just right, so forgive the temporary lack of organization and mundane presentation.  For now!

Two NY transplants that moved to the Tampa area in 2007, and bought our first home in late December, 2009.   It took us over a year to find the right house.  We knew we wanted to start with a duplex, but were getting desperate after passing on about three dozen contenders.

She actually found the listing.  We did a drive-by on a Saturday after a day at the beach, and submitted our offer Monday morning.  I was convinced the price was for half the house (I was new to the concept, and it did have two addresses).  There were multiple offers, and the seller accepted ours.

While world was watching a ball drop in Times Square, we were unloading a U-Haul and wondering what it took to get a functioning bathroom to shower the next morning.  A winter of 48-degree bedrooms and clogged sewer lines later, we began work on the upstairs apartment.  New coats of paint all around and some window repair.  The kitchen and bath required the most work, as you can see elsewhere on this site.

We finished the apartment and rented it out that summer, which freed us up to play with the downstairs and exterior.  That's most of what you'll see here.  Half messing around with our projects, half just living our lives.  Working just hard enough to be productive but having fun.

Be very jelly.
